The Fiji Rugby Union has achieved a remarkable surplus of $1.6 million in its 2023 annual report.
FRU Trust Board Chairman Peter Mazey emphasizes that this marks a significant turnaround from 2022, when the union faced a loss of $1.6 million.
In 2022, the FRU generated an income of $21 million against expenses of approximately $23 million. However, in 2023, the FRU boosted its income to $27 million.
Despite a rise in expenditures to $25.5 million, the union successfully posted a profit of $1.6 million. Mazey says that the future of the FRU is bright and its shows that they moving in the right direction.
Mazey confirmed that resolutions from the unions have been received and will be discussed during the AGM on Saturday.
The 2023 financial report will be presented at the AGM. Fiji Rugby Union will also appoint seven board members during the AGM on Saturday.
