In Fiji:
A man was arrested at the Lakeba jetty for an alleged case of unlawful possession of illicit drugs this morning.
The arrest was made by officers deployed for the special operations on the island.
The team comprising of officers from the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, Police Mobile Force (PMF) and Central Division conducted the routine check inside the vessel that arrived this morning, whereby the detection was made by the K9 officer. Seized was a clear plastic containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
The suspect is in custody and the seized substances will be sent for analysis. Operations continue on the island.
