The Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), Ms Elizabeth Dibble, visited the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) today as part of her official trip to Fiji.
Ms Dibble was received with full military honours, including a 50-man Guard of Honour, before meeting with RFMF Commander, Major General Jone Kalouniwai, at the RFMF Strategic Headquarters in Berkeley Crescent.
A traditional Fijian welcome ceremony followed at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks Officers’ Mess in Nabua.
In her address, Ms Dibble expressed her admiration for Fiji’s unwavering contribution to international peacekeeping efforts under the MFO since 1982.
She praised the professionalism and dedication of Fijian troops, noting that successive RFMF contingents have upheld high standards in maintaining peace between Egypt and Israel.
Ms Dibble also extended her gratitude to the Government of Fiji and the RFMF for their enduring support of global peace and stability, calling Fiji a key partner in the region’s peacekeeping architecture.
