Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, met with the staff of the Fiji Mission to the United States of America in Washington today, expressing his heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and service in effectively representing Fiji in the “Land of the Free.”

During his address, PM Rabuka emphasized Fiji’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with the United States, highlighting the critical role the Embassy plays in advancing Fiji’s foreign policy priorities.

Led by Fiji’s Ambassador to the U.S., His Excellency Mr. Ilisoni Vuidreketi, the Embassy in Washington is pivotal in promoting Fiji’s foreign policy, trade relations, consular services, and regional cooperation, among other important initiatives.

PM Rabuka acknowledged the Embassy’s key role on the global stage, noting the need to strengthen the office to enhance Fiji’s international presence and maintain an active voice in global forums.

He also reaffirmed the government’s ongoing support for its diplomatic staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

Ambassador Vuidreketi is supported by a dedicated team, including First Secretary Ms. Eva Baleitilagica, Second Secretary Mr. Edwin Pratap, Consular Officer Mr. Aporosa Babakobau, and Executive Officer Ms. Asena Tunisau. Their collective efforts continue to bolster Fiji’s diplomatic engagement and representation in the United States.
