As the third day for the Ratu Sukuna Bowl commences today, the RFMF Army Wives retains their Netball title this year, beating Police Wives in a tight match by 25 points to 22 at the FMF Gymnasium, Suva
Army Servers 2 also came out victorious by beating Police Servers 2; 44 points to 29
Team Coach for Army Wives, Seini Naigatogato is appreciative to the senior Wives in the team for stepping in and helping prepare the squad in retaining their title this year
“I thank the Army Wives Club for supporting the team this year. This year we had to get some old players to come and share their experiences with the new ones so we’re hoping that by next year, we will get some new players.”
Army Servers 2 Team Captain, Venina Naigatogato thanks her team for the teamwork shown in today’s game and coming out victorious as last year, Police Servers 2 took the title home
“I’m very proud of the girls with the effort they can gave in as it was a very tense competition but through fitness and teamwork, the team was able to pull through. We prepared very well before the game today and it comes down the girls giving in their best, individually and as a team.”
Emotions were high for Naigatogato as she dedicates their win to all Army Servers serving around the world especially to the Late Private Lawanigusu who lost her battle to cancer, last Thursday.
“Todays’ win is dedicated to all the Servers around the world. To those in Golan Heights, Iraq and all the other places that I have not mentioned especially to our comrade that passed away last Thursday. Although we could not attend her funeral today, we dedicate our win to her and her family. We would also like to thank all our other supporters who have helped us through admin wise as well as help us in our preparations throughout this week.”
