On Monday, 20th June 2022, the Third Battalion of Fiji Infantry Regiment (3FIR) conducted the CO’s Battalion Parade at 3FIR drill square, Queen Elizabeth Barrack (QEB), Nabua.

The parade was then reviewed by the Commanding Officer (CO) 3FIR and Chief Staff Officer (CSO) Operation Land Force, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt-Col) Penioni Naliva, as they commemorated the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Fiji Infantry Corps in 1942.

“I’d want to thank members of the battalion that have returned from peacekeeping duties in Iraq, the Taskforce Daimani Rua from the Golan Heights, including our front-liners who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic, and not forgetting a platoon that returned from the Coral Warriors Exercise in Australia for their impressive contribution,” Lt-Col Naliva said.

The CO concluded his address by telling troops to be obedient to their superiors as they remember the sacrifices of those that have gone before them. He also reminded those in command to be good leaders and to think of those under their authority.

Members of 3FIR are conducting a clean-up at the Older Peoples Home in Samabula, the Fiji Blind School in Vatuwaqa and the War Memorial site in Nasese.
