A 39-year-old man remains in police custody following the death of his 38-year-old wife on Sunday.

The suspect is alleged to have seriously assaulted the victim in their home in Narewa, Nadi during a heated argument over why the victim had arrived home late.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the victim’s cause of death as investigations continue.

In another case of interest, the body of a 19-year-old man was found near a bulk store in Field 40 Lautoka yesterday afternoon.

The victim was found motionless in a sitting position and was rushed to the Lautoka Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the victim’s cause of death.

Investigations continue.
