The Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Lynda Tabuya attended the official opening and meeting proper of the Bose ni Yasana o Kadavu held at the chiefly village of Tavuki in Kadavu yesterday 26/07/23).

The meeting was officially opened by the Acting Minister for iTaukei Affairs and Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro. It was an opportune time for the Minister to update the forum of traditional leaders of the programs in place for the new financial year commencing 1st August.
The open forum before the meeting proper fielded queries about better access to welfare payments through digital platforms as well as the rural pregnant mothers scheme. Minister Tabuya also participated in the meeting and discussed pertinent issues around dealing with violence against women and children, women economic empowerment and dealing with crime and drug problems.
The Soqosoqo Vakamarama or women’s group will have their Annual General Meeting (AGM) tomorrow morning before the meeting resumes and concludes on Friday with the Solevu.
