Rosie Travel Group, a prominent tourism icon based in Nadi has announced plans to introduce Fiji’s first fully electric passenger vehicle, marking a significant move towards sustainable transformation in the country’s tourism industry.
Eroni Puamau, the Group’s General Manager, highlighted the multi-million dollar investment as a commitment to aligning with Fiji’s sustainable development goals in tourism. Following extensive research, a strategic partnership was forged with Vision Motors Fiji, to facilitate the introduction of the 7-seater MPV MIFA9 vehicles.
A sustainable charging infrastructure was prioritised by the group, collaborating closely with Solar Hub Fiji to implement solar-powered fast charging stations at their Rosie Transport Hub. Ajay Lal from Vision Motors Fiji commended the groups initiative, emphasising its role in future-proofing tourism transport services and ensuring continued prosperity.
Solar Hub’s Managing Director, Mr. Yogesh Chand, lauded Rosie’s support for renewable energy and outlined plans to create affordable renewable energy solutions for the tourism industry.
Rosie Travel Group aims to contribute to a sustainable future for Fiji by embracing renewable energy sources like solar power while also generating excess electricity for the national grid, promoting energy self-sufficiency and financial viability.
The Rosie EV fleet, comprising three MAXUS MIFA9 7-seater MPVs, is set to commence operations in early April, signaling a significant step towards environmentally friendly tourism practices.
