The President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere officiated the closing ceremony of the European Film Festival in Labasa.
He stressed the significance of cultural exchange between Fiji and the European Union.
Katonivere commended the festival for showcasing diversity and adopting cultural understanding through cinema.
The festival featured films from 10 European countries, with a goal to unite audiences across various backgrounds.
European Union Ambassador to Fiji, Barbra Plinkett, expressed her satisfaction with the festival’s success and assured continued cultural engagement with Northern Fiji.
The festival, which began in Suva on 17 May, concluded on 25 May, marking its first-ever presentation in Vanua Levu.
