ANZ has announced the appointment of Martin Beattie as Country Head ANZ Timor-Leste, subject to regulatory approvals.
Reporting to Sarah Stubbings, ANZ Regional Executive for the Pacific, Mr Beattie will have
responsibility for ANZ’s commercial banking business in Timor-Leste.
“Asia-Pacific is a key part of ANZ’s international network and Timor-Leste is an important
and growing market in the region. I look forward to working with Martin to build an even
stronger business here,” Ms Stubbings said.
Mr Beattie has been at ANZ for 15 years, with previous roles as a Specialist Property
Manager and as State Manager Commercial Broker for Western Australia, South Australia
and the Northern Territory.
He has previously been Country Head for the Solomon Islands.
“Martin did a great job leading our team in the Solomons. I’m delighted to be able to
announce his appointment to this critical role,” Ms Stubbings said.
“He has over 18 years’ experience, both internationally and in Australia, from a broad
variety of finance and baking roles. Martin is passionate about the community, and I know
he is looking forward to making a real difference leading our business in Timor-Leste.”
Martin will be on the ground in Timor-Leste from October. He will officially take on the
Country Head role once all regulatory approvals have come through.
In the meantime, Joao Ferreira, Head of Commercial for Timor-Leste, will assume the Acting
Country Head Role when current Country Head Bernadette Shaw departs in early October.
“I want to sincerely thank Bernadette for her commitment to our customers, community and
team in Timor-Leste. We wish her all the best in her new role as Country Head of Laos,” Ms
Stubbings said.
