The Vodafone National Kaji and Kajiana championship was hailed as a resounding success after three days of fierce competition among the teams in the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
Seventeen districts from across Fiji participated, showcasing their skills with few upsets throughout the tournament.
The Suva Under-13 team claimed the boys’ title, defeating Ovalau 15-nil in the final.
The Suva White under-14 side dominated Ra with a score of 14-nil, securing a clean sweep for Suva.
In the girls’ competition, Cakaudrove captured the Under-14 Kajiana title with a 12-nil victory over Taveuni.
Meanwhile, Taveuni excelled in the Under-13 Kajiana category, taking home the title.
Fiji Rugby Union’s Operations Manager, Tiko Matawalu, said that despite the five-year gap since the last championship, the event showed high-quality play.
Matawalu said that teams displayed exceptional talent, proving that many hidden stars emerged during this championship.
