Police have retained the 2024 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Competition after they defeated Army 20-19 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
This victory is especially significant as it aligns with the Fiji Police Force’s 150th anniversary.
Team Coach Solomone Nute took the opportunity to commend his players for their relentless effort and determination on the field, singling out young Ponipate Tuberi for his outstanding performance that earned him the title of man of the match.
In contrast, Army’s captain, John Muller, voiced his frustration over the loss, acknowledging they had clear chances to secure the win.
In this year’s week-long Sukuna Bowl competition, the Police dominated, claiming victories in Cricket, Soccer, Boxing, Volleyball, and the Development rugby match, while the Army managed to secure wins only in Netball and women’s rugby.
