The Education Minister, Aseri Radrodro, met with the World Bank team during their visit to Suva from 20-24 January, as part of the Advisory Support for Pacific Island Region in Education initiative, supported by DFAT and the Educational Quality and Assessment Programme.

Discussions focused on several key education initiatives, including a pilot program for Early Childhood Education teacher training that combines digital and face-to-face methods, Fiji’s participation in a global study on childcare spaces, support for Technical and Vocational Education and Training and capacity building for evidence-based policy and budgeting.

Radrodro commended the ongoing partnership and reaffirmed Fiji’s commitment to enhancing its education system.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the World Bank team, led by Senior Economist Shawn Powers, to engage with local education institutions and development partners.
