More than 40 young people experiencing homelessness took part in a special Easter weekend camp organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in partnership with the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) from Lautoka and the Western Region.
Held in a spirit of unity and compassion, the event provided an opportunity for participants to connect with their peers and youth leaders in a safe and welcoming environment. Activities included group worship, interactive sessions, and community meals that helped foster a sense of belonging and dignity among the young attendees.
Officials and MYF members noted the joyful atmosphere, with participants openly engaging, sharing laughter, and taking part in fellowship throughout the weekend. Many described the experience as a powerful reminder that meaningful connection and spiritual support can bring healing and hope.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports stated that the camp was part of a broader effort to support vulnerable youth through empowerment, inclusion, and community engagement.
