The Turaga na Tui Macuata and Fiji’s former President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere have pledged the support of the Vanua of Caumatalevu towards the Fiji Police Force and the direction taken by the Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu, in strengthening community and vanua-based approaches to fighting crime.
The pledge was made during a visit by the Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu and senior members of the Northern Division Command Group to the Tui Macuata’s residence in Naduri Village.
Ratu Katonivere welcomed the Commissioner and his delegation, congratulated him on his appointment and assured the head of the Fiji Police Force of his vanua’s support in upholding and safeguarding the laws of the land within his province.
The Turaga na Tui Macuata also pledged the full support of the Vanua towards efforts of curbing illicit drugs, targeting the cultivation and found in possession of illicit drugs.
The Commissioner of Police acknowledged and extended the organisation’s appreciation to the Tui Macuata for taking the lead role in advocating for the safety and well-being of his people.
He reaffirmed the Fiji Police’s commitment to strengthening networks with various sectors of Fiji’s communities, working together for safe communities for all.
