Fiji and India have taken further steps to strengthen cooperation in security and digital development following high-level discussions between government representatives this week.

Minister for Policing and Communications Ioane Naivalurua met with India’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Shri Suneet Mehta, to explore areas of shared interest and future collaboration.

Talks centred on enhancing partnerships in cybersecurity, law enforcement, digital resilience and capacity-building initiatives, underscoring the growing relationship between the two nations.

During the meeting, Minister Naivalurua acknowledged India’s ongoing assistance in supporting Fiji’s efforts in these sectors.

High Commissioner Mehta, in turn, praised Fiji’s dedication to advancing bilateral ties and fostering regional cooperation.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working together to strengthen security frameworks and digital resilience, with a shared goal of delivering long-term benefits for their citizens and the broader Pacific region.
