FIJI Water Flying Fijians Head Coach Senirusi Seruvakula says the unity within the camp remains one of the team’s greatest strengths, with not only the 32-player squad but also the management group working closely together behind the scenes.
Following last weekend’s disappointing defeat, Seruvakula says the players and coaching staff have intensified preparations, determined to ensure they produce a much-improved performance against Scotland.
“The players and coaching staff understand that last week’s game was not an easy one, and they know the performance fell short of the standards they had set for themselves. However, with several days having passed since the match, the team has shifted its full attention to preparing for this weekend’s clash against Scotland.
Preparations have intensified, and the squad has made a conscious decision to put last week’s result behind them and focus on making the most of their training over the past few days.”
He says the team has reflected on the lessons from the loss, stressing the importance of respecting one another, working together, and communicating effectively on the field.
Seruvakula adds that Scotland will present an even tougher challenge, and the Flying Fijians will need to be at their best if they are to bounce back.
“The team believes one of the biggest lessons from the defeat is the importance of respecting one another, working together, and communicating effectively on the field. They say these are fundamental values for any successful team, and they have identified areas that need improvement following last week’s performance.
The players acknowledge that the result was not only painful for their supporters but also for the entire management team and the squad. While the disappointment remains, the focus is now on responding positively, with the team determined to produce a much stronger performance against Scotland.”
