A total of 350 students graduated from Pacific Polytech in Nausori today after successfully completing weeks of skills-based training across a range of disciplines, including electronics and engineering, information and communication technology (ICT), trades, and technology.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Pacific Polytech Chair Dr Ganesh Chand said around 80 percent of this year’s graduates are iTaukei, describing it as a significant milestone for the institution in helping address social and economic challenges through education and skills development.

Dr Chand said that since its establishment six years ago, Pacific Polytech has assisted thousands of Fijians by providing accessible vocational and technical training, equipping them with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

He also highlighted the economic impact of the graduates, saying the students completing their training this year have the potential to collectively generate more than $4 million annually through employment, self-employment, and business opportunities.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of students who are now prepared to contribute to Fiji’s workforce and economic development.
