Fiji is expecting further investment announcements in the agriculture and tourism sectors as it continues efforts to attract investors from within the Pacific and beyond.

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty says several major projects are being managed around the country, with new developments expected to be announced soon.

Chetty says Fiji’s investment strategy is not limited to attracting capital from countries such as Papua New Guinea, but also involves strengthening economic ties with other Pacific island nations.

“We continue to attract investment, but also not only from PNG and other places in the world. But for us, we are also focused on other Pacific island countries,” Chetty said.

He says Investment Fiji has recently strengthened its engagement with Solomon Islands and New Caledonia, identifying opportunities where Fijian businesses can contribute to the growth of neighbouring Pacific economies.

Chetty says there is potential for Fijian companies to expand their expertise and services into markets such as Solomon Islands, creating opportunities for stronger regional business relationships.

Meanwhile, several major developments are progressing in Fiji.

Chetty highlighted the Vatu Talei project in Nadi, while the Yavu Collective Group is also preparing to open one of its developments in the coming weeks.

The Yavu Collective Group has several projects in its pipeline, including the Jewel project in Nasinu and another development in Wailoaloa, Nadi.

Chetty says these developments reflect continued investor confidence in Fiji and the potential for further growth across key sectors of the economy.
