The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will once again be part of the excitement of Super Round in 2027, with the club set to face the Highlanders in Christchurch as part of Round 8 of the Super Rugby Pacific season
The highly anticipated clash will be played at One New Zealand Stadium in Christchurch on Sunday, April 4, kicking off at 2pm Fiji time.
Drua Head Coach Brad Mooar welcomed the team’s return to Christchurch after describing the 2026 Super Round as a major success. He said the side was excited to reconnect with the Drua community in Christchurch and experience the atmosphere created by the passionate supporters.
Super Round will bring together all 10 Super Rugby Pacific teams from April 2 to 4, returning to Christchurch after drawing more than 73,000 fans across the weekend in 2026. The event will once again showcase some of the competition’s biggest matchups at the newly opened venue.
The weekend will begin with the Crusaders taking on the Brumbies on Friday, April 2, before the Chiefs meet the Western Force and the Blues face the Waratahs on Saturday. The Drua’s clash against the Highlanders headlines Sunday’s action before defending champions the Hurricanes take on the Reds in the final match of the round.
Fixture details for the wider 2027 season are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks. The competition will feature an expanded 17-week regular season, with each team playing 16 matches before the top six sides advance to the Finals Series.
The Drua will be aiming to build on their growing Super Rugby Pacific presence as they return to one of the competition’s marquee events in Christchurch next year.
