Dayal’s Steel Ba FC and Stratum/PPCL Rewa FC will renew their rivalry when they meet in the 2026 Extra Battle of the Giants final at Four R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba today.
Both sides secured their places in the decider after hard-fought semi-final victories yesterday.
Ba defeated Global Care Suva FC 2–1 in the opening semi-final, with Etonia Dogalau and Nabil Begg scoring for the Men in Black, while Malakai Lavecake netted Suva’s only goal. Ba was reduced to 10 men after Begg was sent off in the 76th minute.
Rewa booked its place in the final with a thrilling 3–2 comeback victory over Nasinu FC. Ranit Lal put Nasinu ahead before Josaia Sela levelled for the Delta Tigers, but Paul Francis restored Nasinu’s lead before two late goals from Epeli Valevou completed Rewa’s comeback.
Today’s final will be another chapter in a growing rivalry, with the two sides having already met twice this season.
Rewa recorded a convincing 3–0 win over Ba in the BOG pool stage, while the Men in Black responded with a 1–0 victory over the Delta Tigers in their most recent Extra Premier League meeting.
Ba will have home advantage and will be chasing a third major trophy this season after lifting the BiC Fiji FACT and Extra Premier League titles.
Head coach Ravinesh Kumar will be hoping his side can maintain its discipline and complete what would be a memorable domestic treble.
Rewa, meanwhile, will be looking to carry the momentum from its semi-final comeback into the final as player-coach Ratu Tevita Waranivalu targets the club’s 10th BOG title.
With both sides boasting attacking quality and plenty of experience, another closely fought encounter is expected when the two rivals meet for the trophy.
The Extra BOG grand final kicks off at 3 pm today at the Four R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.
