Fans travelling to Australia for Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 will have another familiar hospitality option when IHG Hotels & Resorts becomes the tournament’s Official Hotel Partner.
The partnership will connect IHG’s global hotel network with the six-week tournament, giving travelling supporters, teams, officials and local fans opportunities to experience the event beyond the stadiums.
IHG operates more than 7,000 hotels worldwide, including 60 properties across Australia.
Its portfolio of 21 brands spans luxury and lifestyle hotels, premium properties, essentials and suites, providing accommodation options for individuals, groups and families.
For fans, the partnership is expected to bring the Rugby World Cup atmosphere into IHG properties across Australia.
Watch parties will be hosted at IHG hotels in each of the seven Host Cities, as well as at locations around the country.
The company will also engage with supporters at stadiums and Fan Festivals throughout the tournament.
IHG One Rewards members will also have opportunities to get closer to the tournament through special experiences, adding another layer to the travel experience for fans attending matches.
World Rugby Chief Revenue Officer Michel Poussau said the partnership would help deliver the tournament experience across Australia, from accommodation and Host Cities to stadiums and Fan Festivals.
For IHG, the tournament represents both a major hospitality opportunity and an international platform for its brands.
Chief Executive Officer for Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa Kenneth Macpherson said the event is expected to generate significant accommodation demand while allowing IHG to connect with rugby audiences around the world.
IHG says its loyalty programme has more than 160 million members globally, giving the company an established audience to engage before, during and after the tournament.
Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 will feature 24 teams competing across Australia.
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale from 1 October 2026, with fans able to register their interest now for tournament updates.
