Nasinu Town Council is looking at developing designated roadside markets along Ratu Dovi Road and other parts of the municipality as it works to better organise roadside vending.

Acting CEO Felix Magnus highlighted the Council is looking at existing market areas such as Laqere and possible locations along Ratu Dovi Road for designated roadside markets.

“Looking at the Laqere market, Ratu Dovi Road and markets along that road in Nasinu.”

The proposal is aimed at providing vendors with proper spaces to operate while keeping roadsides and pedestrian areas clear.

Magnus said Nasinu’s continued growth is also increasing the need to make better use of available spaces.

“Now 2026, we have more people coming in and our wards are growing, so we have to look at the open spaces.”

The Council is also considering how market facilities can be incorporated alongside new supermarkets and commercial developments as Nasinu continues to expand along the Suva-Nausori corridor.
