Stratum/Lincoln Rewa FC has become the first Super Premier side to book a place in the FMF Inter-District Championship semi-finals after a convincing 3-0 win over Extra Supermarket Labasa FC at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
The Delta Tigers now have six points from two matches, securing their semi-final berth with one pool game still to play.
The match remained goalless through the opening half before Josaia Sela opened the scoring in the 70th minute. Merrill Nand then took control of the contest, scoring in the 75th and 80th minutes to complete Rewa’s win.
Elsewhere, defending Extra Premier League champions Dayals Steel Ba FC were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Vantex Solutions Navua FC.
Ba appeared to be in control after Nabil Begg and John Orobulu gave them a two-goal lead. However, Simione Damuni reduced the deficit in first-half stoppage time before Navua captain Peniame Drova equalised in the 89th minute.
Khelvin Realtors Lautoka FC produced the biggest win of the Super Premier matches, defeating Pacific Heavy Industries Nadi FC 5-2.
Epeli Leiroti and Luciano Orzo put Lautoka ahead early, while Aabid Mohammed brought Nadi back into the contest. Rusiate Matarerega and Sterling Vasconcellos added further goals for Lautoka, with an own goal also contributing to their tally. Eneriko Matau scored Nadi’s second.
Kells Investment/Global Care Suva FC and Nasinu FC shared the points after a 2-2 draw. Gagame Feni scored twice for Suva, while Jone Rupeni and a Suva own goal ensured Nasinu earned a point.
In the Premier Division, the Fiji U-17 side made a strong start with a 2-0 win over Crusoe’s Retreat Tailevu Naitasiri FC. Nivaan Reddy opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Mustafeez Khan secured the victory in the 75th.
Seaqaqa FC also advanced to the Premier Division semi-finals after drawing 1-1 with Alfaaz Security Services Nadroga FC at Buckhurst Park. The result moved Seaqaqa to four points following its 4-2 victory over Kiribati on the opening day.
In the Senior Division, Savusavu responded with a 2-0 win over Cooling Down California Rakiraki FC, while Nadogo narrowly defeated Taveuni 1-0.
Dreketi beat Bua 3-1, and Northland Tailevu came away with a 2-1 victory over Lami.
