The Fiji Water Flying Fijians have named a strong member squad for next week’s historic Centennial Test against Japan in Tokyo, with three players in line to make their international debut.

Head coach, Jake White has retained a solid mix of experienced campaigners and emerging talent as Fiji prepares for a special occasion marking 100 years of rugby relations between the two nations.

Among the forwards, captain Tevita Ikanivere will lead a powerful pack that includes Peni Ravai, Inoke Ravuiwasa, Samu Tawake, Meli Tuni, Mesake Doge and Isoa Tuwai.

Two uncapped forwards, Aporosa Vuniyarawa and Kavekini Boselawa, have been rewarded for their impressive performances and could earn their first Flying Fijians caps in Tokyo. Speedster Nacani Boginisoko is the third debutant named in the squad.

The backs feature a wealth of international experience with halfbacks Frank Lomani and Sam Wye, playmakers Ben Volavola and Kemu Valetini, while exciting outside backs Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, Joji Nasova, Isikeli Rabitu, Maleli Nauvasi and Isaac Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens add firepower to the lineup.

The Centennial Test will see Fiji take on Japan at the iconic Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium in Tokyo on Saturday, October 24.

The match is expected to provide another important test for the Flying Fijians as they continue building towards future international campaigns while celebrating a century of rugby ties between the two nations.
