Aaron Mauger has resigned from his position as Assistant Coach of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, with his departure taking effect immediately.

Fiji Rugby confirmed Mauger’s resignation today, saying it respects his decision and has expressed its appreciation for his contribution to the national team programme.

Mauger brought extensive international coaching experience to the Flying Fijians, along with leadership and professionalism. During his tenure, he was also involved in the development of the squad and built strong relationships with players, coaches and management.

Fiji Rakavi Football Union Chief Executive Officer Koli Sewabu thanked Mauger for his commitment and contribution to Fiji Rugby.

“On behalf of Fiji Rugby, I would like to sincerely thank Aaron for his professionalism, commitment and the invaluable experience he brought to our national program,” Sewabu said.

“His knowledge of the international game, his leadership, and his dedication to our players have made a significant contribution to the Flying Fijians during his time with us.”

Sewabu said Fiji Rugby fully respects Mauger’s decision and understands the personal considerations behind his departure.

He also extended the organisation’s best wishes to Mauger and his family for the future, while thanking them for the support they provided throughout his time with Fiji Rugby.

Fiji Rugby says it will appoint a suitable replacement to ensure the Flying Fijians remain well supported as they prepare for an important international campaign.

The Flying Fijians will now turn their attention to preparations for the Pacific Nations Cup in September.

Head Coach Senirusi Seruvakula, together with the coaching and management team, will continue to oversee squad selection, planning and preparations ahead of the campaign.
