Schoolgirls sporting giants Adi Cakobau School and Jasper Williams High School will join 24 teams from across Vitilevu Island to contend for the holy-grail of schoolgirls’ rugby league in this year’s Fiji Schoolgirls XIII Championship.
Fiji Secondary School’s Rugby League (FSSRL) President Ifereimi Naisoro announced the news of a reformed schoolgirls championships with a new sponsor to be announced this Friday at the official launching of the competition.
It is a big breakthrough for the schools league to have Jasper from Lautoka and ACS from Tailevu.
Naisoro says they are formidable champions in various sporting events and now that they have joined rugby league, they will come with their crowd, supporters and community 26 girls team will take part in the competition.
So far 10 west schools and 16 southeast zone schools have confirmed their participation in the 2024 Fiji Schoolgirls XIIIs Championship.
The competition kicks off this Saturday 17th February across venues in Suva and Lautoka.
The Fiji secondary schools rugby league competition will conclude in week 12 of the first term.
The finals series will kick-off from April 13th, 20th, and Grand Final on 27th with all matches to be held at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park.
