The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) held its inaugural Church Parade for 2025 this morning, with simultaneous services taking place across three locations: Centenary Church in Suva, Kaleli Methodist Church in Labasa, and Natabua Church in Lautoka.

The event, which took place between 8 am and 9 am, saw officers and their families gather for a time of reflection and community.

In Suva, Acting Commissioner Naucukidi addressed the congregation, expressing his gratitude for the strong presence of family members at the service.

He acknowledged the officers’ dedication and commitment to their roles, saying, “I thank the officers for your relentless commitment to unity, dedication, and hard work in fulfilling our obligations as required by the government.”

He also referred to the recent challenges faced by the FCS and reminded officers that unity is essential.

“We will be failing in our duties if there is disunity in our approach,” he emphasized, calling for a collective effort and renewed focus as the service works on rebuilding its image.

The sermon was delivered by Reverend Kinijoji Serutawake, who inspired the congregation with a message about unity, humility, and respect for lawful authority.

He reminded officers of the importance of spiritual development in their work and urged them to stay grounded in faith, especially in the face of challenges.

Reverend Serutawake highlighted the significance of leadership based on honesty, integrity, and spiritual wisdom, stressing that this would enhance individual performance and contribute to the success of the FCS as a whole.

The Church Parade was not only a ceremonial occasion but a reminder of the values that drive the FCS: dedication, humility, and spiritual leadership.
