In Fiji:
All four prisoners who escaped from Korovou Prison last night have been successfully recaptured, thanks to a swift joint operation between the Fiji Police Force and Fiji Corrections Services.
Acting Commissioner of Police Livai Driu confirmed the arrests, crediting the rapid coordination between law enforcement agencies.
“We received the report around 9pm and immediately mobilised our Police Stations and Community Posts,” he said.
“Roadblocks were activated along the Suva–Nausori corridor and remained in place until this morning.”
The escapees are currently in police custody and will face charges for escaping from lawful custody before being returned to the Corrections Services.
