A man in his 30s has died following a road crash in Sawani on 22 June 2026, becoming Fiji’s latest road fatality.
According to Police, the victim was sitting at a bus shelter when a vehicle reportedly veered off the road and slammed into the structure.
The vehicle was allegedly driven by a 48-year-old man, who was also injured during the incident.
The victim was taken to the Nausori Health Centre for medical treatment but later passed away from the injuries sustained in the crash.
Meanwhile, the driver remains admitted at the health facility as Police continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The latest death brings Fiji’s road toll to 31 so far this year, compared to 34 recorded during the same period in 2025.
