Speaking to Fiji One News, the mother of conjoined twins, Akeneta Rokobati Tacaqe, said her children are currently recovering in Saudi Arabia ahead of their complex separation surgery.
Tacaqe highlighted that the children went directly to hospital after arriving in Saudi Arabia, where they underwent a series of medical tests because of their long journey from Fiji.
She said the twins were isolated for five days, from Friday to Thursday last week, after becoming slightly unwell from the long travel.
The family has since been staying at a guest house, with the twins given three weeks to recover before their next medical assessment.
The doctors will then conduct further medical checks to determine the next steps in preparation for the separation surgery.
