A man and woman are expected to appear in the Nadi Magistrates Court today after being jointly charged in connection with a significant drug and cash bust in Laucala Beach.
The duo was arrested during a coordinated raid on April 29, 2025, involving the Fiji Police’s Southern and Central Serious Organised Crime & Intelligence Unit, K9 Unit, and the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU).
Acting on a search warrant, officers utilized K9 support which led to the detection of substances later confirmed to be methamphetamine and marijuana.
Further searches uncovered more than $20,000 in cash, suspected to be proceeds of criminal activity.
Both individuals now face one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and one count of possession of property believed to be the proceeds of crime.
The case is being heard in Nadi due to the current relocation of court proceedings.
