The National Occupational Health and Safety Service of the Employment Ministry is conducting a preliminary investigation into an amusement ride incident at the 2024 Hibiscus Festival.
On Sunday, 1 September, the MG Rocket Ride experienced a malfunction when cart No. 3’s turnbuckle broke, causing the cart to tilt.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the seat belts and ride’s structure held securely.
The ride has been shut down pending further investigation.
Prior to the festival, National Occupational Health and Safety Service inspected and certified all rides and the team has been monitoring operations since the festival began.
