England has secured the bronze medal at the FIFA World Cup with a thrilling 6-4 victory over France in a dramatic third-place playoff.
The Three Lions raced to a 4-0 halftime lead through goals from Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa and a first-half brace from Bukayo Saka.
France mounted a spirited comeback after the break, with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice and Bradley Barcola adding another to cut the deficit.
Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot late in the match before Jude Bellingham sealed England’s victory in stoppage time, while Ousmane Dembélé grabbed a late consolation for France.
The result saw England finish third in the tournament, while France ended their World Cup campaign in fourth place after an entertaining 10-goal contest.
