Faith Seruwaiya Vaidamu, representing Makoi, says winning the Miss Nasinu Carnival 2026 crown was beyond her expectations.

Vaidamu said she could hardly believe she had won, describing the experience as a dream come true.

She credited her cousin for encouraging her to enter the competition and said the journey helped her build confidence, with guidance from her mentor playing an important role.

Vaidamu said one of the challenges was overcoming her own doubts while remaining passionate and committed throughout the competition.

She thanked God, her family, supporters from Makoi and her grandmother for their support during her journey.

The newly crowned queen said she hoped to use her platform to serve the community and empower young people.

She also encouraged young people to remain close to God and trust His plan for their lives.

Acting Nasinu Town Council CEO Felix Magnus acknowledged the support of sponsors, partners and the organising committee, stressing the importance of keeping the carnival inclusive and providing opportunities for communities to participate.

Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica also thanked the organisers, volunteers, performers, stallholders and sponsors for their contributions.

He highlighted the importance of environmental protection, urging communities and businesses to take greater responsibility for waste management, recycling and sustainable development.

The carnival also provided a platform for young people to showcase their talents, build confidence and take on leadership roles while strengthening community relationships.
