The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding a scam circulating on Facebook, promoting a fake “smart pass” bus card falsely branded with the LTA logo.
The fraudulent post claims that Pacific Transport is marking its anniversary by offering a special travel card allowing six months of free travel for just FJD $5.13.
LTA confirms this is completely false there is no such promotion, no smart pass of this kind, and no partnership between LTA and Pacific Transport for any such deal.
“This is a scam aimed at tricking and exploiting people,” LTA stated, urging members of the public to verify any offers through official channels before acting.
Anyone who encounters this post or similar suspicious content should report it immediately to LTA or other relevant authorities.
For reliable updates, follow LTA’s official social media accounts or website.
