The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced new regulated prices for fuel and LPG products effective from tomorrow, 1 October.
The prices are as follows:
Fuel Prices
Motor Spirit $2.73 (down $0.17, 5.86%)
Premix $2.55 (down $0.17, 6.25%)
Kerosene $1.79 (down $0.14, 7.25%)
Diesel $2.33 (down $0.17, 6.80%)
LPG Prices
4.5 Kg Cylinder $14.80 (down $0.06, 0.40%)
12 Kg Cylinder $39.46 (down $0.17, 0.43%)
Bulk LPG $3.04 per kg (down $0.02, 0.65%)
Autogas $2.14 per litre (down $0.01, 0.47%)
The price adjustments reflect changes in international refined fuel prices, freight rates and the exchange rate.
Declines in the prices of motor spirit, premix, kerosene and diesel are attributed to favourable movements in international fuel costs and a weaker US dollar.
In the LPG market, although the Butane Contract Price rose slightly, decreased international freight rates and a weaker exchange rate contributed to lower prices for LPG products.
FCCC will enforce compliance with these prices through inspections and consumers are encouraged to report any unfair practices.
