FEO refers electoral breach cases to FICAC

The Supervisor of Elections, Ana Mataiciwa has referred two potential electoral breach cases to Fiji’s Independent Commission Against Corruption.

One involves FijiFirst Party’s leader appointment, where despite a conviction barring him from holding office, Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama remains in position. 

The other concerns a complaint against Lynda Tabuya. 

Several other individuals have been referred to FICAC for possible electoral breaches:

1. Charan Jeath Singh – Referred to FICAC on 31 Oct 2023

2. Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum – Referred to FICAC on 15 Feb 2024

3. Frank Voreqe Bainimarama – Referred to FICAC on 15 Feb 2024

4. Ratu Willame Kotonivere – Referred to FICAC on 15 Feb 2024

5. Biman Prasad – Referred to FICAC on 05 April 2024

6. Usaia Waqatairewa – Referred to FICAC on 20 Mar 2024

7. Lynda Tabuya – Referred to FICAC on 05 April 2024
