The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) has officially closed a complaint against Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro, citing that the issues raised fall outside its investigative mandate.
The complaint, lodged by four former Human Resources Managers from the Ministry of Education, alleged that Minister Radrodro had interfered in disciplinary processes, carried out unlawful terminations, abused his position, and appointed individuals without following due procedures.
The complainants claimed they were dismissed based on personal grievances and were replaced by individuals allegedly linked to the Minister.
Additional accusations included staff transfers and terminations conducted without sufficient justification.
However, following a detailed legal review, FICAC concluded that the complaint pertained to employment and administrative decisions areas that do not fall under its jurisdiction.
The Commission advised that such matters are more appropriately handled by the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations or through the judicial system.
In a statement, FICAC reaffirmed its commitment to operating independently and without bias, underscoring its role in upholding the rule of law, while ensuring that cases it handles fall within its legal authority.
