The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) is strengthening its regional approach to drug rehabilitation and prevention through active participation in a high-level workshop hosted by the Singapore Prison Service.
Acting Commissioner Mr. Sevuloni Naucukidi and Director of Education, Training, and Rehabilitation SSPT Aisea Rainima are representing Fiji at the “Evidence-Informed Drug Rehabilitation and Prevention Workshop 2025,” from May 13 to 18, alongside officials from 14 countries.
The two also attended the Asia-Pacific Forum Against Drugs 2025, themed “Forging Ahead Together, Towards a Drug-Free Society.”
The forum emphasized cross-border collaboration and evidence-driven solutions in the face of growing drug-related challenges in the region.
Through this platform, the FCS is leveraging shared experiences and best practices to refine its own rehabilitation models and prevent drug problems from escalating to critical levels, as witnessed in other nations.
The engagement reaffirms Fiji’s commitment to international standards in correctional practices, particularly in rehabilitation and reintegration strategies aimed at building safer, more resilient communities.
