Seventy two correction officers graduated this morning,after completing a 14-week basic recruit training in Naboro.
The service has also recorded a high number of female recruits, with 18 new corrections officers.
Speaking during the passing-out parade, Attorney General Siromi Turaga says the passing out parade represents a significant milestone in the evolution of the corrections service.
Turaga reminded the recruits that it was through their determination and resilience has brought them to this day.
He reminded the officers that their role is to maintain order and uphold justice.
“Today’s passing out parade, set against this backdrop, represents a significant milestone in the continued evolution of our corrections service.”
