Fiji is expected to achieve five consecutive years of economic growth in 2026, with projections showing the economy is likely to maintain its positive performance over the next two years.
The economy has expanded annually from 2022 through 2026, despite continued pressure from global economic and geopolitical challenges.
These include conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, fluctuations in international oil prices and higher costs for imported goods.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says the sustained growth reflects the resilience of the Fijian economy and its people.
He says the priority now is to ensure that economic progress delivers tangible benefits for ordinary Fijians, including more jobs, opportunities and improved living standards.
Rabuka also recognised the role of businesses, investors, workers and industries in supporting the country’s economic performance.
He says Government will continue to encourage private-sector investment, improve infrastructure and create conditions for sustainable economic growth.
The Prime Minister says while the continued growth is encouraging, more work is needed to ensure its benefits reach people across Fiji.
