The Fiji men’s and women’s hockey teams are confident about their prospects at the Hockey 5s World Cup competition next month after their recent triumph at the Pacific Games.

The men’s and women’s teams from Fiji have qualified for the Hockey 5s World Cup for the first time.

The Fiji Hockey Federation is facing financial difficulties as well as other obstacles at home, but coach Shaun Corrie says they won’t let that stop them from getting ready.

One of the greatest accomplishments for both teams, according to Corrie, was making it to the World Cup.

Now, they have an opportunity to leave their stamp on the hockey world.

The inaugural edition of the FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2024 will be played in Muscat, Oman from 24-31 January 2024, with 16 teams competing in both men’s and women’s tournaments.
