Fourteen personnel from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) have taken part in Exercise Garuda Canti Dharma III (GCD III) 2026, a multinational peacekeeping exercise held at the Indonesian Peacekeeping Mission Centre (PMPP TNI) in Sentul, Bogor.

The exercise was jointly hosted by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), bringing together more than 700 military personnel from 22 countries.

The programme focused on improving operational readiness, strengthening interoperability and enhancing leadership through staff planning, field exercises and multinational collaboration in preparation for future United Nations peacekeeping missions.

Fiji’s Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Ratu Isoa Delamisi Tikoca, represented the Fijian Government at the Senior Military Leaders Discussion Forum and the closing ceremony following an invitation from the Commandant of PMPP TNI.

Fiji has maintained a long history of contributing troops to United Nations peacekeeping missions, while Indonesia continues to play a key role in developing regional peacekeeping capabilities.

The participation of the RFMF contingent reflects the growing defence relationship between Fiji and Indonesia, with both countries committed to expanding cooperation in military training, professional exchanges and peacekeeping capacity building.

The Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in Jakarta also acknowledged the 14 RFMF personnel for representing the country and thanked the Indonesian Government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces and PMPP TNI for their continued support and hospitality.

The Embassy says it looks forward to further strengthening defence cooperation to promote peace and security across the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
