The Fiji National Football Team has officially begun their preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers with a camp at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba. Head coach Rob Sherman has named an extended 26-player squad, blending experienced players with rising stars to enhance Fiji’s chances in the critical semi-final match against New Zealand.
“We have a talented mix of experienced players and emerging talent,” Sherman stated. “Our goal is to ensure the squad is well-prepared for the challenges ahead. New Zealand is a formidable opponent, but we believe in our ability to compete at the highest level.”
The squad features a strong domestic core, supported by 13 overseas-based players. Six of these players have already been confirmed, while seven others will undergo trials in Auckland in the coming weeks.

The final 23-player squad will be announced before the team departs for an intensive preparation camp in Auckland on March 1. Fiji will face New Zealand on March 21 at 7 PM (NZT) at Sky Stadium in Wellington.
