Fiji Navy personnel are strengthening their skills in managing ship bridges through a specialised training programme with the Pacific Centre for Maritime Studies (PCMS).
Junior officers and senior sailors took part in a Bridge Management Course supported by the Pacific Maritime Security Program (PMSP), combining classroom learning with simulator exercises and realistic maritime scenarios.
The training gave participants practical experience in communication, teamwork and decision-making—key skills needed to safely and effectively manage a vessel at sea.
The course forms part of the Fiji Navy’s ongoing efforts to develop professional and capable personnel while maintaining safe and effective maritime operations.
The Navy has also acknowledged PCMS and PMSP for their continued support towards maritime training and capability development.
