Fiji and Palau are looking to strengthen policing cooperation through training and exchange programmes following bilateral talks held during the 2026 Pacific Transnational Crime Summit in Nadi.
The meeting involved Fiji’s Minister for Policing and Communications, Ioane Naivalurua, and Palau’s Minister of Justice, Jennifer Olegeriil.
Discussions focused on developing training opportunities and police exchange initiatives between the Fiji Police Force and the Palau Bureau of Public Safety.
Fiji’s Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu, said the Fiji Police Force is prepared to support the establishment of a formal cooperation programme between the two law enforcement agencies.
The talks took place on the sidelines of the 2026 Pacific Transnational Crime Summit, jointly hosted by the Fiji Police Force and the Australian Federal Police at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.
