The public and business operators have been urged to seek proper authorisation before using the Fiji Police Force’s official badge on products, advertisements or promotional materials.
The warning highlights concerns over the unauthorised use of police insignia, which could potentially breach national legislation.
The badge features a cross bearing the St Edward’s Crown above two crossed batons, surrounded by a wreath and bearing the words “FIJI POLICE”.
Authorities have cautioned that reproducing or using the official emblem, or a similar design, without permission may result in legal consequences under the Fiji Police Act 1965, the Public Order Act 1969 and the Crimes Act 2009.
Members of the public, traders and businesses are advised to ensure they have the necessary approval before using police-related symbols for commercial purposes.
