The Fiji Rugby Union is taking steps to strengthen its international connections, with its chairman and delegation recently travelling to the United States for the Ono Foundation-hosted Fiji Day Business Expo.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase Fiji Rugby products to Fijians living abroad and the wider American community, helping promote the sport and its identity beyond Fiji’s shores.

A key highlight was the recognition of former Flying Fijians whose contributions have helped shape the country’s proud rugby history.

The gathering brought together past representatives of both the sevens and 15s formats, acknowledging their lasting impact on the game.

The engagement also supports the Fiji Rugby Union’s Strategic Plan, which prioritises stronger relationships with the Fijian diaspora, meaningful partnerships and new opportunities to expand Fiji Rugby’s presence on the global stage.

By connecting with communities overseas and celebrating the achievements of former players, Fiji Rugby aims to preserve its legacy while creating pathways for the sport’s continued growth.
